    Khaf-Herat railway third part to be finished by late December

    (MENAFN) Reza Ardakanian Iranian Energy Minister stated that the third section of Khaf-Herat railway scheme which attaches the rail networks of Iran and Afghanistan will come upon stream in the third quarter of the present Iranian schedule year (September 22-December 20).

    On Monday June 22 IRNA reported that Ardakanian made the remarks in a meeting with Mohammad Haneef Atmar Afghanistan's Acting Foreign Affairs Minister in Tehran.

    Highlighting the implication of the two countries economic relations, the administrator stated that implementation this section is intended at accelerating the growth of economic relations linking the two countries.

    Khaf-Herat is branch of Iran-Afghanistan rail passage, the scheme, initiated in the financial year of 2007-2008, attaches Iran's eastern city of Khaf to Afghanistan's city of Ghoryan in the west.
