(MENAFN) According to a statement issued by Andreas Schleicher, founder of Program for International Student Assessment (PISA), Turkey has witnessed excellent advancement during the previous 10-year period, as it raised the learning standards of students who have been enrolled in huge amounts in the educational process over the stated period.

Schleicher expressed "I am hopeful that Turkey will see further improvements in the years to come."

Additionally, the COVID-19 struck at a point when most schooling systems were simply not prepared for the distance learning, said Schleicher, Schleicher who is head of education at the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), which runs PISA.

He further included "If Turkey can address the needs of the lowest-performing students that is to ensure that every 15-year-old achieves at least the most basic level on the international PISA test that would add USD 6.3 trillion to Turkey's economy over the working life of those students."
