    Economy of Morocco predicted to drop 5.8 percent

    The High Commission for Planning (HCP) of Morocco said on Monday that the economic expansion in the country is predicted to decline 5.8 percent in 2020, a drop from the 2.5 percent decline in 2019.

    The HCP released a report showing that this performance is the worst in decades, and came due to the join impact of the coronavirus outbreak along with the negative expansion of the primary sector of 5.7 percent.

    As for the non-agricultural activities, they will drop 5.3 percent in 2020 in 2020 in comparison with a rise of 3.7 percent in 2019.

    The secondary sector is predicted to see a decline of 6.9 percent in 2020 following a rise of 3.6 percent in 2019, as the tertiary sector will is going to decline 4.5 percent from an expansion of 3.8 percent in 2019.
