    Energy Ministry permits using 26 billion cubic meters seawater for manufacturing reasons

    (MENAFN) IRIB accounted that Reza Ardakanian Iranian Energy Minister stated that his ministry is going to assign 26 billion cubic meters of seawater to be used for manufacturing reasons in the country's coastal provinces.

    Ardakanian announced that coastal provinces like Hormozgan, Sistan-Baluchestan, and Bushehr can use seawater in schemes that do not necessitate water desalination like aquaculture or for cooling the towers of thermal power plants.

    Reza stated that "Up to 26 billion cubic meters of seawater has been allocated for such uses, which can be used in coastal provinces as required,".

    Reza Ardakanian as well noted that for those schemes that require the seawater to be desalinated, essential licenses have been subjected in the stated provinces.
