    Turkish Central Bank to divide throughout the night using restrictions

    (MENAFN) On Tuesday August 18 Turkey's Central Bank declared that it determination halve using restrictions of lenders for overnight businesses as of August 19.

    The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) stated that "In the framework of the tightening steps taken under liquidity management, banks' borrowing limits at the CBRT Interbank Money Market for overnight transactions will be reduced to half of their current limits effective from 19 August 2020,".

    As Turkish lira has been losing land in opposition to other currencies lately, the bank carries on taking steps to reverse it.

    Beforehand, the bank slash to zero liquidity restrictions presented to main merchants as part of release market operations which reduced the bring in of low-priced endowment.
