    Turkish gas imports losing 4.5 percent in July 2020

    (MENAFN) On Friday September 25 Turkish energy watchdog's data stated that Turkey's natural gas imports reduced by 4.5 percent in July this year contrasted to the same month of 2019.

    Turkey's Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) stated in its monthly natural gas market account that natural gas imports reduced to around 3.1 billion cubic meters (bcm) in July last year, as of around 3.25 bcm for the equivalent month of 2019.

    EMRA's data illustrated In July 2020 that the country imported 2.6 bcm of natural gas via pipelines, while 509 million cubic meters (mcm) was acquired as LNG; this spotted a drop in pipeline gas imports of 3.1 percent and 11.2 percent in LNG imports.

    Azerbaijan was Turkey's pinnacle gas import purpose, providing 1.09 bcm of natural gas whereas Russia and Iran chased with 843 and 664 mcm, correspondingly.
