Saffron exports augments 5 percent in Iran
(MENAFN) Based on a external memorandum of understanding (MOU) inked between Iran"s Planning and Budget Organization (PBO) and three of the country"s banks on Saturday, 10 trillion rials (about USD238.09 million) will be provided for enhancing the saffron industry.
The MOU was inked by PBO"s Executive manager Hamid Pour-Mohammadi and the managing heads of Agriculture Bank, Mellat Bank, and Export Development Bank of Iran.
Speaking in the signing ceremony, Pour-Mohammadi stated that the mentioned support will be offered to saffron producers in the form of bank services to aid the production of saffron and the packing and processing of this product which has been affected by the outburst of COVID-19.
