    Iran: Red meat production augments 57 percent

    (MENAFN) The SCI"s report stated that beef and veal took the first place in the country"s red meat production in the sixth month with 23,600 tons, followed by lamb and mutton with 12,900 tons, goat meat with 2,800 tons, and red meat from other livestock with 734 tons.
    The leader of Iran"s Livestock Provision Council demanded the government to buy the red meat at assured prices to encourage the producers.

    Making the comments in an interview by IRNA on October 2, Mansour Pourian also advised the exports of livestock to support the producers and also bring foreign income for the country.
