    Iran increases copper anode production

(MENAFN) Manufacturing of the copper anode in Iran has increased ten percent in the duration of the first half of the present calendar year from March 20th to September 21st, in comparison with the same period of time of last year.

The expected amount of production for this year was 159,681 tons, but production exceeded that by 12 percent, reaching 159,681 tons during the first six months.

The amount of copper anode being manufactured was split unequally between two companies. The Sarchesmeh Copper Complex was credited for making 117,094 tons, while Khatoonabad Copper Cathode Production Plant produced 62,442.

Copper anode production was at 30,303 tons in the sixth month of this year, which was 30 percent more than the number of the previous year's same month.

Iran was having issues with the sanctions made by the U.S. which were intended to hinder the Islamic Republic's trade of lucrative metals, but they were not affected, and managed to duplicate its copper exports during the previous Iranian calendar year.
