    Iran, Afghanistan officially inaugurate joint railway project

    (MENAFN)The Iranian Steel Producers Association (ISPA) declared that, an agreement to export USD4.332 million values of rail tracks to Afghanistan was signed by Iran’s Esfahan Steel Company (ESCO).

    According to IRNA, the stated rail tracks to be utilized in the country’s railway development projects.

    Afghanistan is applying strong measures for improving its railway infrastructure and will be necessitating millions of tons of rail tracks to this end, and Iran as a major producer of rail tracks in the region can fulfill all its neighbor’s requirements in this sector.

    Iran and Afghanistan formally launched a joint railway project called Khaf-Herat on December 11, 2020, to connect eastern Iran to western Afghanistan. Some parts of this project were put into practice by the Iranian side and Afghanistan was in responsible of constructing one part.
