    Turkey's benchmark stock index to close Monday at 1,536.19 points

    (MENAFN)Turkey's benchmark stock index dropped 0.29 percent to close Monday at 1,536.19 points.

    Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index fell 4.42 points from 1,540.61 points at the last close, after starting the week at 1,538.50 points.

    Index averaged between 1,522.25 and 1,557.45 points in the day, 36 stocks on the index increased, 62 dropped and two were flat in comparison with Friday's close.

    By market close, the total market worth of the BIST 100 was about 1.1 trillion Turkish liras (USD156 billion), with a daily trading rate of 34 billion Turkish liras (USD4.6 billion).
