    Turkish central government's budget balance posts USD24.7 B

    (MENAFN)On Friday, stated that the Turkish central government's budget balance registered about 173 billion Turkish lira (USD24.7 billion) deficit in 2020, easily hit the target of 239 billion Turkish liras (USD34 billion).

    Recep Tayyip Erdogan declared that in spite of annual improvement in the budget shortage in previous year, the government is planning for a permanent development in the number.

    Turkey's central government budget balance registered a shortfall of 123.7 billion Turkish liras (USD21.77 billion) in 2019, up from 72.6 billion Turkish liras (USD14.8 billion) in 2018.

    The president further said that “If Turkey achieves its growth target for 2020; the budget-deficit-to-GDP ratio will hit 3.6%, beating the mid-term program target."
