    Iran to indigenize over 4,600 rail industry equipment items

    (MENAFN)According to IRNA, an official with the Islamic Republic of Iran Railways (known as RAI) stated that Iranian manufacturers planned to indigenize the knowledge for the production of more than 4,600 rail industry equipment items.

    RAI also plans to utilize the capacities and capabilities of domestic manufacturers for indigenizing the knowledge for another 550 items which are now imported into the country, stated to Mohammad-Hadi Ziyaei.

    Cooperating with the Industry, Mining and Trade Ministry, RAI has also organized to avert the imports of locomotives and wagons into the country and has restored foreign models with domestic ones during the previous two years.

    He further stated that in this system, 550 items that are still imported from abroad have been listed and knowledge-based and research companies have been invited to indigenize them.”
