Iran advocates S. Korea to recompense for costs caused for 2-year setback in oil payments

(MENAFN)South Korean banks must recompense for the costs caused by the two years of setback in freeing Iran’s oil money, stated the Governor of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) Abdolnaser Hemmati.

Bloomberg quoted Hemmati as saying that “We believe that Korean banks should compensate the Islamic Republic of Iran for the damage suffered during these two years; Of course, the amount of this compensation is a technical issue and must be determined by banking and financial experts.”

He further said that the Islamic Republic of Iran has been banned from getting benefits from its funds with Korean banks because of the Korean banks’ full fulfillment with the maximum pressure policy of the US against Iran.

He added that the policy is against international law and not reasonable by legal principles.
