    Iran’s value of fishery export increases 6 percent

    (MENAFN)An official with Iran’s Fishery Organization (IFO) stated that Iran’s rate of fishery export increased six percent in the first ten months of the current Iranian year, in comparison with the previous year same period.

    Isa Golshahi, IFO’s director-general for quality improvement, processing, and market development stated that the ten-month fishery export amounted at 114,000 tons valued at USD399 million, which was also four percent more than the previous year’s figure in terms of weight.

    The official further said that the current year, with the completion of technical instructions and the inauguration of two industrial units for the production of dried fish and tiny dried fish, another product has been added to the country’s fishery export basket.

    The total of dried fish exports stood at 18,000 tons with an approximate rate of USD18 million, saying that Oman, Myanmar and Malaysia are among the country's new export target markets, he added.
