    Iran allots USD 11.66M for construction of new fishing ports

    (MENAFN)According to an official with Iran Fisheries Organization (IFO), Iran allotted 490 billion rials (USD11.66 million) for the building of new fishing ports at the country’s southern coasts.

    IRNA declared that so far 270 billion rials (USD4.62 million) has been paid of the stated allocation, stated Parviz Mohebi.

    Mohebi further stated that the amount of fishing ports along the southern coast of the country stood at 70, adding that 15 such ports are now under construction along the stated coastline.

    He added that “Unfortunately, due to the delay in allocation of funds, the construction process of these ports is slow and the physical progress of the mentioned projects varies between 30 percent and 70 percent.”
