    Turkey's external assets reach USD240.6B in 2020

    (MENAFN)According to the Turkish Central Bank, Turkey's external assets reached USD240.6 billion at the end of last year, declined 5 percent from the end of 2019.

    The bank further stated that the country's liabilities against non-residents increased 7.3 percent to record USD643.5 billion in the stated period.

    Ti added that the net international investment position (NIIP) – the disparity amid Turkey’s external assets and liabilities – stood at minus USD402.9 billion at the end of December 2020, compared to minus USD346.5 billion at the end of 2019.

    Representing a snapshot in time, the NIIP considered the rate of abroad assets owned by a nation, minus the rate of domestic assets owned by foreigners, including overseas assets and liabilities held by a country’s government, the private sector, and its citizens.
