    Turkey's benchmark stock index starts Friday at 1,551.54 points

    (MENAFN)On Friday, Turkey's benchmark stock index started the day at 1,551.54 points, increased 0.33 percent or 5.13 points from the last close.

    By a daily trading rate of 37.8 billion liras (USD5.4 billion), Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index closed Thursday at 1,546.41 points.

    The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange volume increased to 6.9900 from 6.9660 as of 9:30 AM local time (0630GMT).

    The euro/Turkish lira exchange volume increased to 8.4700 from 8.4240, while one British pound traded for 9.8000 on Friday, versus 9.7540 at Thursday’s close.
