    Turkish Treasury to repay USD5.5B in external debts, USD1.5B billion in interest payments

    (MENAFN)During March-May, Turkey's Treasury is going to reimburse debts valued at 157 billion Turkish liras (USD21.2 billion).

    According to the Treasury and Finance Ministry, it will refund 40.6 billion Turkish liras (USD5.5 billion) in external debts with 11.1 billion lira (USD1.5 billion) in interest payments.

    About 116.5 billion Turkish liras (USD15.7 billion) of domestic debt release is also projected – 20 percent of the total will be interest payments, as the rest will be the principal payment.

    The Treasury will borrow 128.2 billion Turkish liras (USD17.3 billion) from domestic markets from March to May, stated the ministry's borrowing strategy.
