    Iran: Exports from Astara port in north improve 82 percent due to efforts by traders

    (MENAFN)Exports from Astara port in the north of Iran improved 82 percent since the beginning of current Iranian year, in comparison with the previous year same time span, stated a provincial official.

    The stated improvement is due to efforts carried out by the traders of the province in addition to the customs department of Gilan, according to Arsalan Zare, the governor-general of Gilan Province.

    In Iran, Astara Port is 60 hectares and it is considered the first port of the private sector. It is the most cost-effective way for trade and ship amid Asia, Africa, and Europe. It was built for the reason of loading and unloading 2,500-ton freighters.

    The port is one of the central spots for Iran’s export and import, even in the Coronavirus pandemic.
