    Turkey to manufacture 35 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity

    (MENAFN)According to the president, Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) will manufacture 35 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity yearly to gather around 10 percent of Turkey’s power consumption, stated during video link at the groundbreaking ceremony of the plant's third unit.

    The power plant was prepared with the most sophisticated security systems to guarantee it convenes with the International Atomic Energy Agency standards, stated Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

    He further declared that the decision to include nuclear power in Turkey's national energy infrastructure is a planned move for energy supply security, and said that the share of domestic and renewable energy in the country's installed power stood at the level of 63.7 percent.
