Inbound tourism spending in Saudi Arabia to stand at USD25.3B

(MENAFN)New estimates by market research firm Euromonitor International showed that inbound tourism spending in Saudi Arabia is estimated to stand at USD25.3 billion by 2025, improving from the impact of the Coronavirus disease pandemic.

Caroline Bremner, head of travel and tourism research at Euromonitor International stated that “World inbound tourism spending collapsed by 57 percent in 2020, and our forecast expects it to rebound by 82 percent in 2021.”

Bremner further stated that “In our most pessimistic scenario, spending growth is predicted to rise by 40 percent in 2021, leading to a more prolonged recovery timeline, returning to pre-crisis levels by 2024.”

Saudi domestic tourism surpassed estimations in the pandemic, in spite of the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) describing the previous year as “the worst year on record in the history of tourism.”
