    Dubai builds one of biggest waste-to-energy plants

    (MENAFN)Dubai builds one of the world's biggest waste-to-energy plants that are going to have the capability to set almost half of the emirate's garbage.

    Dubai Holding inked an agreement with ITOCHU Corporation, Hitachi Zosen Inova, BESIX Group and Tech Group to improve the 4 billion dirhams (USD1.1 billion) project under a 35-year allowance period with Dubai Municipality.

    According to a statement by Dubai Holding, the Dubai Center for Waste Processing is going to manage 5,666 tons of municipal solid waste produced by Dubai per day.

    Dubai Holding managing director Khalid Al-Malik declared that “By partnering with a strong consortium of strategic and financial investors, we are delivering on our promise of continuously supporting the Emirate’s growth and diversification strategy.”
