    Shipping of commodities via Shahid Rajaee port increases 160 percent

    (MENAFN)a provincial official stated that shipping of commodities via Shahid Rajaee port, Iran’s largest and best-equipped container port, rose 160 percent in the first month of the current Iranian year in comparison to the previous year same time span.

    Some 20,231 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) of goods were shipped via Shahid Rajaee port in the stated month, according Alireza Mohammadi Karajiran, the director-general of Ports and Maritime Department of Iran’s southern Hormozgan province.

    Benefiting from the most modern container terminals and port equipment, Shahid Rajaee credited for 85 percent of the total loading and unloading at the Iranian ports.

    Having its important role in the country’s import and export of products in addition to transit and transshipment through Iran, the development of Shahid Rajaee Port was among the most important development projects in the country.
