    Egypt to recalculate compensation from owner of Ever Given container ship

    (MENAFN)Bloomberg reported that Egypt is set to recalculate the compensation it asked from the owner of the Ever Given container ship that closed the Suez canal in March.

    The Suez Canal Authority (SCA) gained over USD916 million in losses, but out-of-court discussions declined the number USD550 million.

    The Ever Given’s insurers stated that this demand is still too high.

    Bloomberg quoted the SCA’s lawyer, Nabil Zidan as saying that the SCA’s lawyer, Nabil Zidan “We will recalculate our demand in today’s court session,” but no new figure was disclosed.
