    Iran’s ports play significant role in country’s global trade

    (MENAFN)Iran’s ports, as the major gates of exports and imports, resents important role in the country’s global trade, and the continuing operation at the ports showed that they are doing well in this regard.

    Iranian government is always prioritizing the development of ports of its activities, putting vast significance to the role of ports.

    The current government applied important steps in this regard that was outcome in increasing the capacity of ports to 250 million tons from 180 million tons in nearly eight years. The number is now amounting at 280 million tons.

    Iran’s Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) showed a high figure of projects at the start of the present government’s incumbency to develop and improve the country’s ports.
