    Turkey's non-food sales increase 74.6 percent, automotive fuel sales increase 38.5 percent

    (MENAFN)Official data showed that Turkey's retail sales rate, a marker of growing consumer spending, increased 41.7 percent annual in April with base effect in light of the pandemic.

    According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat), excluding automotive fuel, non-food sales increased 74.6 percent, as automotive fuel sales rose 38.5 percent in comparison to the last year same time span.

    Food, drink and tobacco sales improved 10.2 percent in the stated period.

    The reading declined in last April by 20 percent on an annual basis, as the severe Coronavirus restrictions were in the country.
