    Turkey's gross domestic product per capita index stands at 64 in 2020

    (MENAFN)According to Turkey’s statistical authority, Turkey's gross domestic product (GDP) per capita index based on purchasing power parity (PPP) in 2020 stood at 64, while the average for EU countries reached 100.

    The country's index increased 3 points from the last year, regardless of the 2020 Coronavirus pandemic.

    The Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) further stated that Turkey’s GDP per capita index stood at 36 percent lower than the EU average based on the preliminary results of the European Comparison Program for the previous year.

    TurkStat data added that Luxembourg had the highest GDP per capita index of 266, out of the 37 countries included in the comparison.
