    Loading, unloading commodities in ports of Iran increase 7 percent

    (MENAFN)According to the deputy head of Iran’s Ports and Maritime Organization (MPO), loading and unloading of goods in the ports of Iran increased seven percent in the first three months of the current Iranian year, in comparison to the previous year same time span.

    In spite of the limitation due to the sanctions and Coronavirus pandemic, the loading and unloading capacity of the country’s commercial ports improved to 44.9 million tons in this year, from 42 million tons in the previous year.

    Some 21 million tons of oil products was loaded and unloaded in the ports of Iran in the first quarter of this year, increasing 17 percent in comparison to the last year same period, also declared the official.

    About 536,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) of container products were loaded and unloaded in the mentioned period of this year, one percent over 536,000 TEUs in the first three months of the previous year, he added.
