    Saudi Arabia introduces best performance above all emerging markets

    (MENAFN)New data from global information provider Refinitiv showed, Saudi Arabia was the best performing of all the emerging markets since the start of the pandemic.

    An analysis of 25 countries in the MSCI Emerging Market Index stated that Saudi Arabia, home to the Tadawul stock exchange in Riyadh, is at the top of the list with a near 27 percent increase in market rate since the start of the previous year.

    That compares with an average improvement of just 1.6 percent on the whole index, and surassed the 14.2 percent increase in the MSCI World Index of all countries.

    Turkey performed the worst of the emerging markets, with a 22.8 percent drop as start of the pandemic, followed by Peru and Colombia, with fall of over 20 percent. Of the other Middle East countries, Egypt witnessed a 6.5 percent drop, as Qatar barely increased, with just a 1.2 percent boost.
