Iran to link 8 rail lines in 3 provinces to railway network
(MENAFN)About 10,000 kilometers of railway projects are under study, according to Iran's outgoing transport minister.
“Eight rail lines in three provinces will be connected to the country's railway network. The projects for connecting Kordestan, Ardebil, and Chaharmahal-Bakhtiari provinces to the national network have a noticeable progress at the moment and will be inaugurated in the coming months,” Mohammad Eslami further declared, underlining that the length of the country's railway network has reached 14,000 kilometers.
Some 825 kilometers of railroads will be built across the country by the end of this Iranian year, according to the deputy minister.
Kheirollah Khademi, who is also the managing director of Iran's Construction and Development of Transportation Infrastructures Company (CDTIC) declared that eight railway projects are prioritized in the current year, and with their opening, 825 km will be added to Iran's railway.
