Foreign delegations come to Iran for constructing renewable power plants in country

(MENAFN) Renewables, counting hydropower, stood at seven percent of Iran’s total power generation, versus natural gas’ 90 percent share.

Iran planned for 5,000 megawatts (MW) improvement in renewable capacity to convene growing domestic demand and increase its presence in the regional electricity market, according to the country’s Sixth Five-Year National Development Plan (2016-2021).

only one-fifth of the number was accomplished in the last year of the plan.

Iran was planned to turn into a regional hub in the field of energy in the last Iranian decade (March 2011-March 2021), but evidence declares that the country is confronting a lack even in the supply of electricity inside the country, a crisis that many believe that could be done by improving renewable energy and increasing efficiency of the thermal power plants.
