    Explosion of fuel tanker in Lebanon causes 20 deaths

    (MENAFN)According to the Lebanese Red Cross, a fuel tanker exploded in northern Lebanon and resulted in more than 20 people deaths, 79 injuries.

    The tanker exploded in the Akkar region in the north of the country and 22 Red Cross teams attempted to move the dead and wounded from the site to nearby hospitals, stated the aid group.

    Red Cross teams, in addition to army troops, Internal Security Forces united with the Interior Ministry, civil defense teams and residents aided move the dead and wounded, local media added.

    Former Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri posted on Twitter that "The Akkar massacre is no different from the Beirut Port massacre.”
