Iran to launch 30 projects valued at USD1.916B in mines, mining industries

(MENAFN)Iran to launch 30 projects valued at USD1.916 billion in the mines and mining industries across the country by the end of this Iranian year, according to Head of Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) Vajihollah Jafari.

The stated project is going to offer 4,700 direct and 18,600 indirect jobs, Jafari further declared.

Corresponding to Iran’s major plans for distancing the country’s economy from oil and moving toward a strong, oil-free economy, the mining sector turned into one of the major areas of focus in latest years, as the country is considered one of the world’s top 10 mineral-rich countries where 68 types of minerals were recognized so far, including the world’s largest deposits of copper, zinc, and iron.

The government prioritized expansion and exploitation of these huge sources of income in recent years, and a number of programs were recognized for the improvement of this industry.
