    Saudi General Authority for Competition approves business for Aramco's unit, SAMI

    (MENAFN)Saudi Arabian Industrial Investments (Dussur), Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI), and French aerospace group Figeac Aéro obtained the approval to a corporation by the Saudi General Authority for Competition (GAC).

    According to the Saudi Press Agency, the formal conformation by the regulator comes after a deal amid the companies, inked in June, to establish a facility in the Kingdom to produce airframes.

    SAMI is going to take the majority of the shares in the new entity that is going to produce metal components for both military and commercial aircraft.

    the Saudi government's commitment to increasing the role of private sector investment and involvement in the development of the Kingdom’s infrastructure and public services are the points that were highlighted in the deal.
