    Saudi Ports Authority, Dubai Ports launch construction works at Jeddah Islamic Port

    (MENAFN)According to SPA, on Thursday, Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) and Dubai Ports World inaugurated the construction works for the first phase of the Southern Container Terminal development project at Jeddah Islamic Port.

    The development work is going to be achieved in four phases, with the project planned to be implemented by 2024.

    The project includes expansions that will support the terminal to serve five ships simultaneously and deal with the largest container ships operating today and in the future, with a load of up to 26,000 TEUs.

    It is considered as part of the new commercial attribution contract that Mawani inked with DP World in December 2019 for a period of thirty years.
