    UAE announces Net Zero by 2050 Strategic Initiative

    (MENAFN)According to WAM, the UAE announced the country Net Zero by 2050 Strategic Initiative, a national drive to attain net-zero discharges by 2050, making the Emirates the first to do so in the MENA region.

    Furthermore; the plan is looking to support dynamic economic progression alongside positive environmental impact.

    Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum stated that the UAE is not going to invest more than 600 billion dirhams (USD163 billion) in renewable energy as part of the commitment.

    The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE) is going to lead and organize efforts to perform the initiative and ensure cooperation at national level to accomplish this target.
