Saudi unemployment falls to 11.3 percent in 2Q of 2021

(MENAFN) Investment bank Jadwa declared that Saudi unemployment dropped to 11.3 percent in April-June period of 2021, decreased from 11.7 percent in the three months to April.

The decline reflects the economy’s expansionary trend in the first six months of this year and predicts unemployment to drop even further in the final half of 2021 and 2022, stated the Riyad-based firm.

The economy’s increase was led by a thriving non-oil private sector that witnessed a 7.5 percent annual improvement rate in the January-June period of 2021, Jadwa’s report added.

Jadwa also stated that the sector played a major role in decreasing unemployment numbers and is estimated to continue this course for the rest of the year.
