    Egypt’s clothing exports register increase of 38 percent during 2021

    (MENAFN) According to the head of the Egyptian Ready-made Garments Export Council, Mary Lewis statement, the country’s clothing exports increased by 38 percent in the first 11 months of last year. The overall exports of the clothing industry hit USD1.7 billion, increasing from USD1.3 billion from the corresponding time span of 2020.

    Lewis mentioned, the US took the top position on the list of nations that imported the most clothing from Egypt in the mentioned time frame. Capacities jumped by 44 percent to reach USD1 billion climbing from USD726 million during the parallel time period of the past year.

    Clothing exports to Europe also surged 3 percent to register USD320 million in 2021, in comparison to USD310 million during the similar time span of two years ago.
