    Turkish yearly inflation rate hits 36.08 percent

    (MENAFN) According to the Turkish statistical authority statement on Monday, the country registered a 36.08 percent yearly rise in consumer costs during last year, the top level in 19 years. Moreover, TurkStat also added that consumer prices recorded a yearly rise of 21.31 percent two months ago.

    On a month-to-month basis, the inflation rate surged by 13.58 percent last month, jumping from 3.51 percent of the November number.

    The data demonstrated that the highest price rise on an annual basis was recorded in transportation with 53.66 percent the previous month.

    Then comes food and non-alcoholic beverages with 43.80 percent and furnishings and home appliances with 40.95 percent. On the contrary, the lowest yearly rise, stood at 8.76 percent in communication.
