    Turkish stock index opens with high record on Tuesday

    (MENAFN) On Tuesday, the Turkish standard stock index started at 1,941.26 points, increasing by 0.76 percent, or 14.60 points, from the last ending.

    Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index surged 3.71 percent the preceding day to end at 1,926.66, with an everyday exchanging capacity of 21.9 billion liras (USD1.63 billion).

    The US dollar/Turkish lira trading rate jumped to 13.2445 on 9.30 a.m. domestic time (0630GMT) from 13.0980 at the last ending.

    One euro exchanged for 14.9641 Turkish liras in comparison to 14.8580 at Monday’s end, whereas the British pound/Turkish lira trading rate stood at 17.7913, climbing from 17.7000. One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for about USD79.03 on 10 a.m. domestic time.
