    Turkish major stock index closes Tuesday with 1.92 percent increase

    (MENAFN) The Turkish major stock index ended Tuesday’s trading session at 1,963.59 points, increasing by 1.92 percent from the last close.

    Opening the day at 1,941.26 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index jumped 36.93 points from Monday's end of 1,926.66 points. The lowest value of the index throughout the day amounted at 1,925.22 points, whereas its highest value stood at 1,978.12.

    The overall market worth of the BIST 100 was about 1.60 trillion Turkish liras (around USD118.3 billion) by market end, with an everyday trading capacity of 32.6 billion liras (USD2.47 billion).

    Throughout the day, 66 stocks on the index jumped, 31 dropped, and three remained at the same value in comparison to Monday's ending.
