    Islamabad-Tehran-Istanbul new cargo train scheme arrives in Ankara

    (MENAFN) As a celebration of the arrival of the first Islamabad-Tehran-Istanbul (ITI) train transporting commodities from Pakistan to Turkey, through Iran following the continuation of its maneuvers, a ceremony was organized at Ankara on Wednesday.

    The ITI freight train began its voyage from Islamabad on Dec. 21 of last year, and arrived in Ankara in about 13 days. Turkey's Transport and Infrastructure Minister Adil Karaismailoglu, Member of Pakistan National Assembly Makhdoom Zain Hussain Qureshi, along with Iranian Ambassador to Turkiye Mohammad Farazmand joined the occasion.

    Leaving from the Margalla station in Islamabad, the train went on a road of 5,981 kilometers (3,666 miles) in 12 days and 21 hours. The freight train intends to enhance trade between Pakistan, Iran, and Turkiye. It includes eight loaded carriages, 20 feet each with a capacity of 22 tons.
