    Turkish major stock opens Thursday’s trading session lower

    (MENAFN) On Thursday, the Turkish major stock index started at 1,986.48 points, dropping by 18.82 points, or 0.94 percent, from the last ending.

    On Wednesday, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index jumped by 2.12 percent for the middle of the week ending of 2,005.29 points, with an everyday exchanging capacity of 27 billion liras (USD2 billion).

    The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate soared to 13.7869 on 10 a.m. domestic time (0500GMT), from 13.4670 at the last ending.

    The euro/lira trade rate jumped to 15.5681 from 15.2610, whereas one British pound exchanged for 18.6298 liras, surging from 18.2820. Brent crude oil was sold for about USD80.14 for each barrel on 10 a.m. domestic time.
