    Iran to inaugurate national cryptocurrency in near future

    (MENAFN) According to an Iranian official with the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) announcement, the Central Bank of Iran intends to inaugurate the national cryptocurrency in a pilot stage in the near term, but did not give any extra information.

    CBI Vice Governor for IT Affairs Mehran Moharamian stated that the bank views cryptocurrencies as a resolution for sorting out inconsistencies and decentralizing resources, which is a thing that many nations have started to take advantage from lately.

    In 2018, Informatics Services Corporation, the executive division of the Central Bank of Iran responsible for running the nation's banking automation and payment services scheme, was assigned with the task of coming up with a national cryptocurrency. The firm’s officials later stated that Iran’s cryptocurrency has been created using the Hyper Ledger Fabric platform.

    It is a block chain agenda proposal and one of the Hyper Ledger Firm's schemes organized by Linux Foundation.
