    Turkish industrial production rockets 14.4 percent

    (MENAFN) According to the Turkish statistical authority announcement on Friday, the country’s calendar-adjusted industrial output surged 14.4 percent in the last month of 2021 on an annual basis.

    Based on data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat), while the mining and quarrying sector registered very low figures, the manufacturing industry as well as the electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply indices registered high records.

    The mining and quarrying sector index plummeted 1.4 percent on a yearly basis in the last month of 2021. The manufacturing industry as well as the electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply indices increased by 16.2 percent and 8 percent, in that order, during the corresponding time span.

    A group of eight experts interviewed by Anadolu Agency this week had estimated a 10.8 percent yearly increase in December's industrial output data.
