    Turkish current account balance registers USD3.84B deficit

    (MENAFN) Based on Turkish official data released on Friday, the country’s current account balance registered a USD3.84 billion deficits in the last month of 2021, increasing by USD401 million on an annual basis. The nation’s 12-month rolling deficit amounted at USD14.9 billion according to numbers announced by the Turkish Central Bank.

    The gold- and energy-excepted current account recorded a USD2.27 billion surplus in comparison to a USD700 million surplus in the last month of 2020.

    According to survey conducted by a news agency the previous week, a group of 27 economists estimated the current account balance would register a USD3.98 billion deficit in November.

    The end-2021 current account balance was anticipated to record a deficit of USD14.6 billion, with predictions varying between USD12.5 billion and USD15.7 billion.
