    Turkey’s drill vessel to begin operation on 3rd exploration borehole

    (MENAFN) According to Fatih Donmez, the Energy and Natural Resources Minister post on twitter this Wednesday, the Turkish Fatih drill vessel began drilling the third exploration borehole in the Sakarya Gas Field in the Black Sea area.

    Donmez added that this vessel is going to start its exploration for natural gas for two months and a half at a depth of 5,000 meters under sea level at the Karasu-1 borehole.

    At the moment, Turkey has two seismic survey vessels, Oruc Reis and Barbaros Hayrettin Pasa, and three drill vessels, Fatih, Kanuni and Yavuz that work in the Black Sea and the Mediterranean Sea, with a fourth drill vessel planned for action in the summer months.

    Up until now, drilling has produced 540 billion cubic meters of production from the Black Sea.
