Turkish overseas assets stand at USD298.1B

(MENAFN) Based on data published by the Turkish Central Bank on Friday, Turkey ended 2021 with overseas assets valued at USD298.1 billion, dropping by 16.6 percent from the end of the preceding year. Liabilities against non-citizens plummeted 17.5 percent to hit USD528.3 billion in the corresponding time span.

The net international investment position (NIIP) which is the difference between overseas assets and liabilities, was under USD230.2 billion at the end of the last month of 2021, in comparison to minus USD384.8 billion at the end of the preceding year.

Displaying a brief moment in time, the NIIP, which can be either positive or negative, is the worth of foreign assets held by a country, excluding the worth of local assets held by non-nationals, involving external assets and liabilities owned by a country’s government, the private sector, along with its residents.
