    Exports of Turkey register surge of 17.2 percent in Jan.

    (MENAFN) Based on provisional data announced by turkey on Monday, the country’s exports and imports soared in the first month of 2022.

    Based on the data showed by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) and the Trade Ministry, exports surged 17.2 percent to USD17.59 billion in the mentioned month, in comparison with the corresponding month of the previous year. Imports climbed 54.2 percent on an annual basis to hit USD27.85 billion the preceding month.

    TurkStat also mentioned, "exports, excluding energy products and non-monetary gold, were USD16.75 billion with a 19.6 percent increase in January 2022. Imports, excluding energy products and non-monetary gold, were USD18.41 billion with a 31.1 percent increase in January 2022."

    It also stated, "foreign trade deficit, excluding energy products and non-monetary gold, was USD1.66 billion in January 2022."
